Equifax Data Breach

What you need to know:

Equifax, a leading credit report provider, recently announced that 143 million people could be affected by a recent breach of its data system. Cybercriminals stole important personal information that included name, Social Security numbers, birthdates, addresses, and some driver’s license numbers. We want our members to be made aware of this incident. To help you determine if you information has been breached, and to mitigate the impact of this breach, we have prepared a detailed guide for our members. What to expect from Cenla federal credit union:

  • We will NEVER contact you to ask for your username, password, or other online banking credentials.
  • We will NEVER contact you to ask for your credit or debit card number, PIN, or 3-digit security code.
  • All of your transactions are monitored 24/7, and you will be notified of any suspicious activity for verification.
  • When you call or visit a branch, we routinely ask you for information to confirm your identity. You may notice the questions we ask you going forward to confirm your identity may be different as we work to protect your personal, private information from being compromised.

Christmas Club

If you planned ahead last year & already have a Christmas Club account with us, you will not be receiving a check in the mail as in previous years. The Balance of your Christmas Club account will now be deposited into your savings (01) account by November 1st.
